FIRE DEPARTMENT STATISTICS** from www.firereporting.ok.gov recorded on 01/25/17 thru 01/26/17

  • 2 Fires Burned 5.5 Acres (Cause: 1-Escaped Debris, 1-Misc.) Cyril, & Cyril FD’s Reporting

Statewide Discussion: A dry forecast through the remainder of the week, fully dormant fuels and ten days separation from wetting rains across much of Oklahoma will likely lead to increasing initial attack activity each day. At this time, no critical fire weather is in the short-term forecast with moderate to very-high fire danger indices expected daily.

No significant fire weather expected across Oklahoma today; however initial attack activity is likely with dry conditions in place. Fine-dead fuel moisture will range from 6% in western locations to 8% in far eastern Oklahoma with temperatures generally in the mid-40°’s and relative humidity values 27-40%. West-northwest winds at 5-12 mph will should limit rate of fire spread providing for good probability of successful initial attack efforts.
