Carbon sequestration and the sale of "carbon offsets" is an emerging market opportunity for Oklahoma's forest landowners as they seek reasonable returns for the ecological services they provide.  Participation in some form of carbon trading could provide a new opportunity for income on a regular, ongoing basis.
