The Oklahoma Forestry Services, a division of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, announces the hiring of Craig Longshore, District Forester, for the Sallisaw District.
Longshore will primarily be responsible for assisting private landowners, communities and organizations with tree and forested tract management in Creek, Muskogee, Okmulgee and Sequoyah counties. Responsibilities will also include writing long-term plans for wildlife habitat, resource conservation, forest health and profitability and the supervision and management of the district’s wildland fire crews.
A native Oklahoman, Longshore is from Stilwell and a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He returns to Oklahoma after working for more than five years for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service in Montana. “I am pleased to be back in Oklahoma and serving the people of this great State” said Longshore, “and I look forward to working with everyone to help improve Oklahoma’s forest resources.”
