Forest ecosystems are not all about trees but rather the whole mosaic of forest entities including clean water, wildlife and recreation, among others. As a result of a growing population there is intense pressure placed on Oklahoma’s forests. Not only is there an increased demand for forest products and services but pressure to develop working forest lands due to their for desirability as a location for homesites.
With its sustainable forestry programs, Oklahoma Forestry Services and its partners work to:
-
Identify key sustainable forestry issues and trends
-
Develop education/training materials and events on issues related to maintaining healthy, viable working forests.
-
Provide assistance services to organizations and individuals interested in sustainable forestry issues.
